Max grew up in Charleston, South Carolina, and was first licensed in 2016, at age 12. After finding the wide world of DXing and Contesting, Max took a deep dive into the hobby that culminated into a lifelong commitment to Amateur Radio in all forms.

Max was a member of the 2025 PJ2 Youth DXpedition, the 2026 3Y0K Bouvet Island DXpedition, and a competitor in WRTC 2026.

Professionally, Max’s vocation is also his avocation, working in the ARRL Education department developing resources to bring Amateur Radio into the classroom and in front of students.
