Gregg Marco, W6IZT, was first licensed in 1968 and is a second-generation amateur radio operator. An avid DXer, experienced DXpeditioner, and occasional contester, he has been active in all aspects of the hobby for more than five decades. Gregg has achieved #1 DXCC Honor Roll with 349 confirmed entities and holds 10-Band DXCC.

Over the past 30 years, Gregg has participated in numerous major DXpeditions and operations, including BV/W6IZT, TI/W6IZT, K5D (Desecheo), FS/W6IZT, PJ7/W6IZT, HK0NA (Malpelo), PJ2T, C6AGU, C6AZT, KH6/W6IZT, PJ6A, PJ6/W6IZT, K1N (Navassa), 3Y0Z (Bouvet), VP6R (Pitcairn), VP6A (Ducie), JW0A (Svalbard), 9G4X (Ghana), 3D2Y (Rotuma), and PJ6Y (Saba). He has been a member of four teams awarded the Southwest Ohio DX Association DXpedition of the Year Award and is a past Director of INDEXA.

Gregg is actively involved in mentoring the next generation of DXpeditioners. He has led recent youth-focused DXpeditions to Rotuma (3D2Y) and Saba (PJ6Y), providing hands-on experience in all phases of DXpeditioning. Through the use of Radio-in-a-Box (RiB) technology, additional operators worldwide have been able to participate remotely, expanding both access and training opportunities. He has also contributed to advancing DXpedition capabilities through the development of the NexGenRiB series of self-contained “Radio-in-a-Box” systems, designed to support both local and remote operations while improving efficiency and reducing costs.

Gregg is also the developer of DXter, a cloud-based platform supporting RiB deployment and operation. Professionally, Gregg has over 40 years of experience in the technology sector, with leadership roles spanning sales, marketing, systems engineering, product development, and business development.

He and his wife Wendy also operate a real estate business in North Georgia. Gregg and Wendy reside in Morganton, Georgia. Amateur radio is a family activity, with daughters Renee, W6RMW, and Jenna, KJ4PQV, and granddaughter Marlee, KC1YBR, all active operators.
